Water Resources Agency Press Conference
November 2, 2012
Taichung (台中), Taiwan.
Members from our team attended a press conference held on November 2nd on behalf of Taiwan's Water Resources Agency, hosted by the National Museum of Natural Science (國立自然科學博物館) in the city of Taichung (台中). The objective of this press conference was to highlight the importance of being prepared when hit by disasters, particularly typhoons, and to promote educational material developed by the Water Resources Agency. The educational material consists of 3D animations on early warning systems and a series of videos of emergency drills to counteract dangers from typhoons; these materials are suitable for children as young as those from middle school. They keynote speaker highlighted that Taiwan's real threat is not the disaster themselves but rather not knowing how to react to the disasters, a message that he hoped to instil throughout the rest of society.
